Vendor bills
Record each vendor bill with its lines, tax and due date, from the purchase order it fills or on its own. Recording posts it to your books, with input GST kept apart when it cannot be claimed, and the bill stays open until you pay it.

What you can do with bills
- Bills with lines, tax and due date, in the vendor's currency; the vendor's own invoice number is checked for duplicates.
- Made from a purchase order line by line, or on their own.
- Each line marked eligible or not for input tax credit; ineligible GST is added to the expense, not claimed.
- Recording posts the bill to accounts payable; vendor payouts settle it.
- Corrections by cancellation or a purchase debit note, never by editing a recorded bill.

Questions
Does it keep input tax credit apart?
Yes. Each line carries whether its GST can be claimed. Claimable GST goes to input tax accounts and into GSTR-3B Table 4; the rest is added to the cost. The free ITC checker at /tools/input-tax-credit explains the rules.
How is a wrong bill corrected?
By cancelling it or with a purchase debit note, never by editing a recorded bill.
