Quick answer
How do I make a quotation online for free?
Fill in the quotation maker above: your business, who the quote is prepared for, the items with quantity and price, the tax rate and a "Valid until" date. Totals and tax are worked out as you type in the quote's own currency, and the preview on the right is the real document. Download it as a PDF free, with no account. Sign in when you want it numbered, sent and turned into an invoice.
- A quote and a quotation are the same document: a priced offer valid for a stated time.
- Any currency: $12,400.00, 12.400,00 € or ₹1,24,500.00, formatted by the quote's country, not your browser.
- GST, VAT or sales tax per line; for India, CGST + SGST or IGST from the two GSTINs.
- An AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude can fill this page for you from a prompt.

What this quotation maker does
This page is a quotation maker and quote generator in one: a form on the left and a live preview of the paper on the right. Everything you type appears on the quotation as you type it, the tax and totals are calculated for you, and the PDF you download is exactly what the preview shows. It works in a phone browser too: on small screens you switch between "Form" and "Preview", and the total and "Download PDF" stay docked at the bottom.
- No sign-up to start. Make the quotation, check it and download the PDF without an account.
- Any currency and country. Pick the country and currency in the settings beside the preview. Amounts, separators and dates follow the quotation's country.
- Tax per line. GST with HSN or SAC codes for India, VAT for the UK and Europe, sales tax for the US, or no tax.
- A validity date. "Valid until" prints under the total, 30 days from today by default.
- Your logo. Any image; it is resized for you.
For what a quotation must contain in India, GST rules on quotations and sample terms, see the quotation format guide. This page is about making and sending one quickly.
How to make a quotation online with this maker
- Your businessStart where the tips point ("Start here: add your business details"): your business name, address and tax number. For India, add your GSTIN and your state fills in. Upload your logo if you have one.
- Prepared forAdd the client's name and address, and their GSTIN or VAT number if they are registered. In India, the GSTIN decides CGST + SGST or IGST.
- Quote detailsCheck the date and set "Valid until" (30 days ahead by default). The number is given when you issue the quotation.
- ItemsAdd one line per item or task with quantity, unit, price and tax rate; add the HSN or SAC code for India. Use "Add line" for more. Tax and totals update as you type.
- Notes and termsWrite what is included, payment terms (for example, 30% advance), the timeline and how to accept. Or press "Start blank" to clear the example first.
- Download PDFCheck the live preview (on a phone, tap "Preview") and press "Download PDF". It is free and carries a small LuckPanda footer.
- Sign in to send and convertSign in free to keep the quotation. With the Sales module you can issue it with a number, email it or share a client link, and create the invoice from it when the client says yes.
Quote or quotation: is there a difference?
No. "Quotation" is the usual word in India, the UK and most of the Commonwealth; "quote" is the everyday word in the US and in UK trades. Both mean a seller's priced offer for stated work or goods, valid for a stated period. A "quotation maker", a "quote generator" and a "quotation generator" are the same tool.
- Quote vs estimate?
- A quote is a firm price for the scope it describes. An estimate is a best guess that can change once the work starts. If your price may move, call it an estimate and say what could change it; see the estimate generator.
- Quote vs proforma invoice?
- A quote comes before the order and asks the client to say yes. A proforma invoice usually comes after the yes, to ask for an advance or support an import.
- Quote vs invoice?
- A quote offers a price; an invoice asks for payment for something supplied. No tax is due on a quote; tax is charged on the invoice.
What a good quotation contains
Short version (the full field-by-field guide with an Indian GST figure is on the quotation format page):
- Your business name, address and tax number (GSTIN, VAT number or EIN), and your logo.
- Who it is prepared for: the client's name, address and tax number if registered.
- A quotation number and date (given when you issue it, once signed in) and a "Valid until" date.
- Each item or task with quantity, unit, rate and tax; specific enough to check later.
- Subtotal, tax and total, in the client's currency.
- Terms: what is included and excluded, payment (advance, milestones), delivery or timeline, and how to accept.
Worked examples: a quotation with GST, sales tax and VAT
These are the examples the maker opens with, by country. Northwind Design Studio quotes a client for a brand identity and a 40-hour website build. Each total below is computed with the same arithmetic and number format as the editor.
India: quotation with GST
Northwind is in Mumbai (GSTIN starting 27) and the client, Acme Retail, is in Pune (also 27): an intra-state supply, so the GST of 18% shows as CGST 9% + SGST 9%. Brand design uses SAC 998391 and website development SAC 998314.
Quotation to a Pune client (CGST + SGST)
| Item | HSN/SAC | Qty | Rate | Taxable value | Tax |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brand identity design | 998391 | 1 | ₹85,000.00 | ₹85,000.00 | ₹15,300.00 |
| Website design and build | 998314 | 40 | ₹2,500.00 | ₹1,00,000.00 | ₹18,000.00 |
| Taxable value | ₹1,85,000.00 | ||||
| CGST 9% | ₹16,650.00 | ||||
| SGST 9% | ₹16,650.00 | ||||
| Total | ₹2,18,300.00 | ||||
Quote the same work to a client in Bengaluru (GSTIN starting 29) and it becomes inter-state: one IGST line at 18%, same total.
The same quotation to a Bengaluru client (IGST)
| Item | HSN/SAC | Qty | Rate | Taxable value | Tax |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brand identity design | 998391 | 1 | ₹85,000.00 | ₹85,000.00 | ₹15,300.00 |
| Website design and build | 998314 | 40 | ₹2,500.00 | ₹1,00,000.00 | ₹18,000.00 |
| Taxable value | ₹1,85,000.00 | ||||
| IGST 18% | ₹33,300.00 | ||||
| Total | ₹2,18,300.00 | ||||
United States: quote with sales tax
In the US, sales tax is set by each state and often by the city or county too; 45 states and Washington, D.C. have a statewide sales tax. Many states tax goods but not most services. Here the design work is untaxed and 20 printed brand guideline books are taxed at an illustrative 8% combined rate. Look up the real rate for the delivery address.
Quote to a US client: services untaxed, printed goods taxed
| Item | Qty | Rate | Amount | Tax |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brand identity design | 1 | $2,400.00 | $2,400.00 | $0.00 |
| Website design and build | 40 | $95.00 | $3,800.00 | $0.00 |
| Printed brand guidelines book | 20 | $45.00 | $900.00 | $72.00 |
| Subtotal | $7,100.00 | |||
| Tax 8% | $72.00 | |||
| Total | $7,172.00 | |||
United Kingdom: quotation with VAT
A VAT-registered UK business adds VAT at 20% (standard rate) to a UK client. Quotes to consumers should show the price including VAT; to businesses, show it separately because they reclaim it. A business that is not VAT-registered quotes with no VAT at all.
Quotation to a UK client (VAT 20%)
| Item | Qty | Rate | Amount | Tax |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brand identity design | 1 | £2,400.00 | £2,400.00 | £480.00 |
| Website design and build | 40 | £95.00 | £3,800.00 | £760.00 |
| Subtotal | £6,200.00 | |||
| VAT 20% | £1,240.00 | |||
| Total | £7,440.00 | |||
Making a quotation in any currency
Choose the currency your client will pay in. The maker writes amounts the way the quotation's country writes them, whatever your computer is set to:
| Quotation country | Currency | How 12,400 is written | Tax word |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | USD | $12,400.00 | Sales tax |
| Germany | EUR | 12.400,00 € | USt. (VAT) |
| India | INR | ₹12,400.00 (and ₹1,24,500.00 in lakh grouping) | GST |
| United Kingdom | GBP | £12,400.00 | VAT |
A German studio's quote (19% VAT, de-DE format)
| Item | Qty | Rate | Amount | Tax |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brand identity and website | 1 | 12.400,00 € | 12.400,00 € | 2.356,00 € |
| Subtotal | 12.400,00 € | |||
| VAT 19 % | 2.356,00 € | |||
| Total | 14.756,00 € | |||
- Quoting abroad from India? A service to a client outside India, paid in foreign exchange, is usually an export of services: zero-rated under a letter of undertaking (LUT), so no IGST on the quote. Pick the client's country in the form and the export options appear.
- Exchange rates move. For long validity periods, quote in the client's currency and price in a margin, or say "rates fixed for 15 days".
- One currency per quotation. If a client wants two currencies, make two quotations.
Quotation maker app vs online vs Excel or Word
All three work. Choose by how many quotations you send and what happens after the client says yes.
| Phone app | This online maker | Excel or Word file | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Install | Yes, from an app store | No: any browser, phone or computer | Office or Google account |
| Start without an account | Usually not | Yes | Yes |
| Tax and totals | Calculated | Calculated per line; GST split from the GSTINs | Formulas you maintain |
| Number format | Usually the phone's locale | The quotation's country (₹1,24,500.00, 12.400,00 €) | Depends on cell format |
| Free tier | Often a document cap (15 to 25 documents is common) | No document cap; branded PDFs | Free |
| Numbering and sending | In paid plans | Sales module (paid) | By hand |
| Turn into an invoice | In paid plans | Yes, signed in, with the same lines | Copy and paste |
| Works offline | Often | No | Yes |
LuckPanda has no separate app to install: the same page works in a phone browser, with the form and preview a tap apart. If you quote from a client's site with no signal, a spreadsheet is the honest choice for that day.
What is free and what is paid
| Free, no account | Free with a sign-in | Sales module (paid) |
|---|---|---|
| Make and edit quotations on this page | Keep quotations as drafts in your business | Issue: a number in your quotation series |
| Live preview and "Download PDF" | Client records created as you type their name | Email the quotation, or share a client link |
| Your logo kept as the business logo | Clean PDFs without LuckPanda branding | |
| Draft kept in this browser | Create the invoice, proforma or sales order from an issued quote |
The free PDF is branded: a small "Made with LuckPanda" footer with a verification code and QR code, and a faint watermark. Anyone can check the code at luckpanda.app/v/ to see that the PDF has not been changed. The Sales module costs ₹249 a month in India, priced per module and never per user.
Sending the quotation: email and WhatsApp samples
Keep the price in the PDF, not in the message, so there is one version of it. Name the quotation number and validity in the message so the client can find it later.
On WhatsApp, attach the downloaded PDF rather than a screenshot: a PDF keeps the full page, prints cleanly and carries the verification code. Signed in with the Sales module, you can instead email it from LuckPanda or share a client link that always shows the current version.
When to follow up on a quote
| When | What to send |
|---|---|
| Same day | The quotation with a two-line message (above). |
| Day 2 or 3 | A short check: "Did the quotation reach the right person? Any questions on scope?" |
| About a week | Something useful: a sample, a reference, a timeline. Ask what would help them decide. |
| 2 or 3 days before "Valid until" | A reminder that the prices hold until that date. |
| After it lapses | Ask whether to revise it. Send a new version with a new validity date; do not just extend the old PDF. |
Quotation validity: how long, and can you withdraw a quote?
Thirty days is the default here and the most common choice. Use 7 to 15 days when your costs move quickly (metals, electronics, fuel, exchange rates), and say "orders after this date are subject to revision". Set it in "Valid until" on the form; it prints under the total.
- India: a quotation is an offer under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. You can withdraw it before the client accepts (section 5), and it lapses when the validity period ends (section 6).
- United States: a merchant's signed written offer to sell goods that says it will be held open cannot be revoked during that time, up to three months (UCC § 2-205, the "firm offer" rule). Other offers, including most quotes for services, can usually be revoked before acceptance.
- United Kingdom: an offer can generally be withdrawn before it is accepted, even if it states a validity period, unless the client paid to keep it open. The validity date still matters: after it, the offer lapses.
From accepted quotation to invoice
When the client says yes, usually with a purchase order or an email, the invoice should repeat the quotation's lines exactly. Retyping is where mistakes creep in.
- Sign in and keep the quotationThe draft from this page becomes a quotation in your business, with the client record created.
- Issue itIssuing gives it a number in your quotation series (QUO-2026-0001 by default, or a prefix you choose such as QT/{FY}/). Only an issued quotation has fixed lines that can be converted.
- Create the invoiceFrom the issued quotation, choose "Create invoice" (or a proforma invoice or a sales order). The lines, rates and tax carry over; you can invoice part of the quantity now and the rest later.
- Track what is leftEach line of the quotation shows how much has been invoiced, and the same quantity cannot be invoiced twice, from the quotation and again from its sales order.
There is no "Accept" button for clients on the quotation yet: record the client's acceptance by creating the invoice or sales order from it, and keep their PO or email with it. Buyers who issue a purchase order can use the purchase order format.
AI quotation generator: let ChatGPT or Claude fill this page
Under the maker there is a "Create with an AI agent" card with a ready prompt and a "Copy prompt" button. Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity. The assistant asks you for your business, the client, the items with prices and the validity, then gives you a link that opens this page filled in, or the PDF.
- What the agent uses: the page's instructions for agents (the .md version of this page), prefill links that open the maker filled in, short links, and the public MCP server at /mcp/public with tools such as create_document_link and create_document_pdf. No account or API key is needed.
- What you still do: a page opened from a link shows the seal "Filled in from a link". Check every line and price before you download or send. An agent's draft is a proposal; it never issues or sends anything.
- What stays private: logos and document numbers are never taken from links. For quotations with personal details, agents are told to use a short link rather than putting the details in the URL.
Mistakes to avoid with an online quotation
- Leaving "Valid until" blank or too long, so a months-old price can be "accepted".
- The wrong currency or format: a US client reading 1.234,00 or an Indian client reading 124,500.00. Pick the client's country and currency.
- Charging tax that does not apply: IGST on an export under LUT, VAT to an overseas business, US sales tax on services your state does not tax.
- One lump sum where the client needs line items to compare quotes.
- Sending a screenshot instead of the PDF.
- Editing a quotation after the client accepted it. Make a revised quotation with a new date instead, so both sides know which version was agreed.
- Forgetting the follow-up. Most quotes are decided in the first week; a reminder before the validity date costs nothing.

Questions people ask
Is this quotation maker really free?
Yes. Making, editing and downloading quotations as PDFs is free, without an account and with no cap on the number of quotations (only an hourly download limit against abuse). Free PDFs carry a small LuckPanda footer; numbering, sending and clean PDFs need the Sales module.
Do I need to sign up to make a quotation?
No. Fill in the form and download the PDF. Sign in only when you want to keep the quotation in your business, number it, send it or turn it into an invoice.
Is a quote the same as a quotation?
Yes. Both are a seller's priced offer valid for a stated time; "quote" is more common in the US, "quotation" in India and the UK.
Can I make a quotation with GST?
Yes. Choose India, add your GSTIN and the client's, and set the GST rate and HSN or SAC per line. The maker shows CGST + SGST for a client in your state and IGST for a client in another state.
Can I make a quotation in dollars or euros?
Yes. Pick the currency and country beside the preview. Amounts are written the way that country writes them, for example $12,400.00 or 12.400,00 €.
Is there a quotation maker app?
There is nothing to install. This page works in any phone browser, with a Form and Preview switch and the Download PDF button docked at the bottom.
Can I add my logo to the quotation?
Yes. Upload any image in "Your business"; it is resized automatically and printed at the top of the quotation.
How do I send a quotation on WhatsApp?
Download the PDF and attach it in WhatsApp with a short message naming the total and the validity date. A PDF is better than a screenshot: it prints cleanly and carries its verification code.
Can I convert the quotation into an invoice?
Yes, once signed in: issue the quotation and choose "Create invoice". The lines, prices and tax carry over, and you can invoice part of it now and the rest later.
Can ChatGPT or Claude make a quotation for me?
Yes. Copy the prompt from the "Create with an AI agent" card under the maker into your assistant. It asks for the details and returns a link that opens this page filled in, which you check before downloading.
How long should a quotation be valid?
Thirty days is usual and is the default here. Use 7 to 15 days if your costs or exchange rates move quickly.
Where is my draft saved?
Without an account, your draft is saved for this browser so you can come back to it. Sign in and it becomes a document in your own business.
Can I make a quotation without GST?
Yes. Set the tax rate to 0% on each line, or leave your GSTIN blank if you are not registered.
Can I put a discount on a quotation?
Yes. Use "Add discount" on a line; the discount is taken off before tax.
Can I revise a quotation after sending it?
Make a revised version with a new date and validity, and tell the client which one replaces the old one.
Does the quotation show my client's currency correctly?
Amounts follow the quotation's country and currency, such as $12,400.00 or ₹1,24,500.00, not your browser's settings.
